I was lucky recently to be invited to Leonie's house in Maldon (Central Victoria). She has been an Antique collector and trader for many years and her house is a virtual wonderland of stunning ceramics, furniture, kitchen items, textiles and many other quirky collectables. Being a bit of a bird nut my eyes were drawn to the flying kookaburra's on the wall. I have seen plenty of flying ducks but never our laughing friends. Leonie says they are very rare and hail from the 1940's.
How fantastic and very Australian is the flying kookaburra. Georgie (Russell Vale)
Love the kooka Gaye...looks like an interesting house.

How wonderful. I have my own collection of flying ducks/birds from the 50's but have never seen a kookaburra before. I want one!!
I'm in love with these gorgeous birds. Stephanie, New Zealand
Hi :) My friend has just acquired a set of these gorgeous kookaburras but she isn't sure of the maker? Did your friend happen to mention who made them?
